Class II antiarrhythmic drugs
Beta blockers are classified as class II drugs. They have significant antiarrhythmic activity and are the only class of antiarrhythmic drugs to have demonstrated convincing mortality reduction after myocardial infarction. Unlike the class I drugs, their efficacy and adverse effects correlate poorly with plasma concentrations. Beta blockers are discussed in Beta blockers. They are used in the management of supraventricular and other nonmalignant arrhythmias.
