Oxpentifylline

Oxpentifylline can have a role in the management of intermittent claudication. However, avoid its use in acute myocardial infarction, because of the risk of arrhythmias. Oxpentifylline can exacerbate the bleeding risk in patients with peptic ulcer disease, or cerebral or retinal haemorrhage. Common adverse effects include flushing, headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. It is excreted renally, and dose adjustment may be required in patients with severe renal impairment.
